From Laguna Beach, California, artist Mitch Ridder works exclusively in Watercolor. With a formal education at California State University, Long Beach in Illustration, Ridder’s innovative work reaches a level of color, detail and depth thought to be unobtainable in the medium considered to be the most difficult to master.

In 2006, Ridder was published in North Light Books, Splash 9: Watercolor Secrets - The Best of Watercolor, a collection of the countries premier watercolorists. Bruce McGaw Graphics also signed Ridder in 2003 with a series of fine art posters. In the back-to-back years of 2002 and 2003, Ridder was named the winner of The Artist’s Magazine Art Competition for animals and was a finalist in 2001.

Additionally, Ridder has been featured in Watercolor Magic, has appeared in Watercolor, Wildlife Art, Art Business News, Road & Track and Orange Coast magazines and has also been honored as a Signature Member in the California Watercolor Association.

Mitch Ridder’s watercolor paintings, commissioned work and limited edition Giclee prints, belong to private and corporate collections around the country and exhibits annually at Laguna Beach’s world famous Festival of Arts and Pageant of the Masters, California’s oldest and most prestigious juried outdoor art show.
